Website Rebuild

Proposal and content migration plan — consolidating four sites into one

Proposal

One Website for CDT

Replacing four fragmented sites with one that the whole team can manage

Comrie Development Trust · February 2026

Where We Are Now

CDT’s online presence is split across four separate websites, each with different owners, different platforms, and different levels of access.

CDT

comriedevelopmenttrust.org.uk

WordPress site. Looks dated. Managed by Lynx Web Design.

Graham is retiring

Self-Catering Booking

Managed by Clark Anderson. No CDT access. Not branded as ours.

No control

cultybraggancamp.uk

Craft CMS. Fresher design, but we can't edit menus or structure.

Limited CDT access

Wedding / Venue Hire

Listed on HireSpace. Not branded CDT. Managed externally.

No control

The Solution

One modern website that any team member can update — no web developer needed for day-to-day changes. All CDT and Cultybraggan content in one place.

What It Costs

Significantly less than the current setup or the Inspire Digital quote.

ItemCostNotes
Website hosting£0Vercel free tier — more than sufficient for CDT's traffic
Content editing system£0Sanity free plan — covers up to 3 editors
DomainExistingUse current domain(s) — no new registration needed
SSL certificate£0Included automatically with hosting
DevelopmentVolunteerBuilt and maintained by a local volunteer developer
Ongoing maintenance£0No monthly platform fees. Content updates done by the team.

For comparison: Inspire Digital quoted £2,000 just to migrate existing content, without any rebranding or restructuring.

Common Questions

Answers to what the team is likely wondering.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. The editing panel works like a form — you type text, upload images, and click Publish. If you can use email, you can update the website.

What if we need something new on the site?

Day-to-day content (news, events, team, documents) is fully managed by the team. For structural changes like adding a completely new section, the developer steps in. This is the same as any website.

What happens if the developer is unavailable?

The team can continue adding and editing all content independently. The site keeps running. A developer is only needed for new features or structural changes.

Can community groups (Woodland, Orchard, Heritage) update their own sections?

Yes. We can give each group their own login to update their project pages. They only see and edit their own content.

Will it work on phones?

Yes. The website is designed mobile-first with a collapsible menu, and the editing panel also works on tablets and phones.

What about the two domain names?

We start with one domain. The other can redirect to it, or we can later set both to serve the same site. No content duplication needed.

Is our content locked in to this system?

No. All content can be exported at any time. Unlike Wix, there’s no vendor lock-in. If CDT ever wants to switch platforms, the content comes with you.
