Website Rebuild
Proposal and content migration plan — consolidating four sites into one
One Website for CDT
Replacing four fragmented sites with one that the whole team can manage
Comrie Development Trust · February 2026
Where We Are Now
CDT’s online presence is split across four separate websites, each with different owners, different platforms, and different levels of access.
comriedevelopmenttrust.org.uk
WordPress site. Looks dated. Managed by Lynx Web Design.
Graham is retiringSelf-Catering Booking
Managed by Clark Anderson. No CDT access. Not branded as ours.
No controlcultybraggancamp.uk
Craft CMS. Fresher design, but we can't edit menus or structure.
Limited CDT accessWedding / Venue Hire
Listed on HireSpace. Not branded CDT. Managed externally.
No controlThe Solution
One modern website that any team member can update — no web developer needed for day-to-day changes. All CDT and Cultybraggan content in one place.
What the Website Covers
The full site structure, based on the Information Architecture agreed by the team.

How We Get There
A phased approach. We build the structure first, then populate content together.
Research & Planning
Information Architecture agreed. Website platform chosen. Content audit of existing sites complete.
CompleteBuild the Skeleton
All pages created with the editing panel. Navigation and mobile layout working. Team can start logging in.
In progressContent Population
Team adds real content — text, images, documents, events. Existing content migrated from current sites.
NextReview & Refine
Team reviews the site. Adjustments to layout, design, and content. Mobile testing.
NextGo Live
Domain pointed to new site. Old sites redirected. Team fully trained on the editing panel.
NextWhat It Costs
Significantly less than the current setup or the Inspire Digital quote.
| Item | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Website hosting | £0 | Vercel free tier — more than sufficient for CDT's traffic |
| Content editing system | £0 | Sanity free plan — covers up to 3 editors |
| Domain | Existing | Use current domain(s) — no new registration needed |
| SSL certificate | £0 | Included automatically with hosting |
| Development | Volunteer | Built and maintained by a local volunteer developer |
| Ongoing maintenance | £0 | No monthly platform fees. Content updates done by the team. |
For comparison: Inspire Digital quoted £2,000 just to migrate existing content, without any rebranding or restructuring.
Common Questions
Answers to what the team is likely wondering.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. The editing panel works like a form — you type text, upload images, and click Publish. If you can use email, you can update the website.
What if we need something new on the site?
Day-to-day content (news, events, team, documents) is fully managed by the team. For structural changes like adding a completely new section, the developer steps in. This is the same as any website.
What happens if the developer is unavailable?
The team can continue adding and editing all content independently. The site keeps running. A developer is only needed for new features or structural changes.
Can community groups (Woodland, Orchard, Heritage) update their own sections?
Yes. We can give each group their own login to update their project pages. They only see and edit their own content.
Will it work on phones?
Yes. The website is designed mobile-first with a collapsible menu, and the editing panel also works on tablets and phones.
What about the two domain names?
We start with one domain. The other can redirect to it, or we can later set both to serve the same site. No content duplication needed.
Is our content locked in to this system?
No. All content can be exported at any time. Unlike Wix, there’s no vendor lock-in. If CDT ever wants to switch platforms, the content comes with you.

Site 3Clark Anderson Properties (Self-Catering Booking)
Managed externally. CDT has no access. Properties not branded as CDT.
| Current Content | New Location | Action | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hut 35 listing | → | The Camp › Stay | New |
| Hut 36 listing | → | The Camp › Stay | New |
| Hut 37 listing | → | The Camp › Stay | New |

Decision needed: Booking relationship
Option A: Keep Clark Anderson for booking, but list all properties on our site with CDT branding and a “Book Now” link to their system.
Option B: Bring booking in-house over time (future phase).
Recommendation: Option A for now — no disruption, immediate improvement in visibility.
Site 4HireSpace (Wedding & Venue Hire Listing)
Third-party venue listing platform. Not branded CDT. Limited control over presentation.
| Current Content | New Location | Action | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venue overview & photos | → | The Camp › Events | New |
| Whole Venue — Events | → | The Camp › Events | New |
| Whole Venue — Film & Photo | → | The Camp › Events (Filming) | New |
| Wedding enquiries | → | The Camp › Events (Weddings) | New |
Decision needed: Keep HireSpace listing?
Option A: Keep HireSpace as a lead-generation channel but make our own site the primary venue page.
Option B: Remove HireSpace once our Events page is live and taking enquiries directly.
Recommendation: Option A initially — HireSpace brings external traffic. Update the listing to link back to our site.
